The drunken chief dance with the woman in the store
At time when drinking was illegal, discotheque

The Chief enters the front door
holding the search warrant proudly
It was dark out and crowed when they had arrived.
"Now we're coming in"

"How do I write in this column again?"
Though the drinking crowed is under arrest for
Violating abstinence prohibition
Not everyone seems to give a damn

A short fat guy from a far land asked with a pale face... pardon?
My child was born last month, am I going to be... to be put in jail now?

"So I guess you're not from around, the court
and imprisonment is just paperwork,
so relax, what is your next drink? Next drink?

The chief says, "Well we present the most futuristic
of all the civilization.
And so to speak our social system must be the greatest

Later those arrested received a red envelope,
and here is what it says...
Penalty: Choose one of the 2 penalties and send this paper back
within 2 weeks.
1-imprisonment for 3 years
2-no abstinence for a week!

警察一行が店の前に着いた頃にはもう日も落ちていて、
店内は賑やかな様子だった。
署長は捜査令状をつまんで、店の正面からゆっくりと堂々と入っていく。
「よし。入るぞ」

店内の客、従業員はみな密造酒法違反で逮捕されるというのに、
まるで他人事の様子。
「罪状ってとこにはなんて書くのかい。こないだと同じかね」

一行も飲み始めた頃、よそ者の小柄の太っちょが心配そうな顔をして尋ねる。
「俺、捕まっちゃうのかい･･･?先月子供が産まれたばっかりなんだけど･･･」

「まぁ、心配するな。裁判も書類上だけだし、懲役がついたとしても書類上だけだし。
とりあえず体裁だけは整ってればいいのさ。飲むか?」

署長の口癖は「なんたってこの国が一番文明が進んでいるわけだから、
ここの社会組織のシステムってのは、言っちゃあ悪いがよそよりは
ずっとスマートで高度なのさ」
後日逮捕者のアパートメントには一通の赤い封筒が届く。
「罪状:密造酒飲酒。人民簡易裁判の判決:A 懲役3年、
もしくは、B この書類の届いた日から数えて一週間以内飲酒をしないこと。
A、B いずれかを選び、この書類の届いた日から
数えて二週間以内に当裁判所に申し出ること。以上」
