The city air is cold and clear
It's wintry crisp and clean.
Stars that once led three wise men
Can once again be seen.
People laden down with gifts
Board a subway train.
Rushing home to light a light
Beside a windowpane.

Children play and hope and pray
That soon there will be snow.

People living high above
Can view the city lights.
They can search for Santa's sleigh

Boys and girls with moms and dads
Walk the avenue.
Christmas trees and holly leaves
Are every where in view.
